The overall system comprised of 11 audio-zones with access to shared sources from iPod docks, radio and centralised home media server. 4 TV areas where included with one being a multi-use playroom/sitting and cinema. For this room, HomeTech worked closely with the interior designers to integrate the equipment as seamlessly as possible by hiding front speakers and subs with joinery and out of direct sight.

A central media server system was requested during the build so a Vidabox Media System was added comprising the main server with one step drop and rip technology along with 2 client players, 1 for the cinema room and a shared house player.

In trying to always think slightly out of the box the client came to us with a problem that they need a solution for. They need a way to monitor the baby’s rooms but due to the size and construction of the house normal “off the shelf” baby monitors would not work. So HomeTech offered a solution by installing small network PTZ cameras in the rooms with a small microphone an in-room baby motoring system was created. From any room in the house they can now listen to one or both rooms via the multi-room audio system and from any iPad quickly see what is happening in the room with the added feature of controlling the camera position and zoom.

Now breaking ground on the shore of beautiful Lake Geneva, Les Voiles du Léman apartments will each be outfitted with an Elan system to control the Lutron lighting and motorized windows shades, heating, air conditioning, security and intercom system. What’s more, the owners can expand their system to integrate multi-room audio, multi-room HD video, surveillance cameras and pool/spa controls.

Each of the six apartments, which feature 1,350-4,000 square feet of living space, have their own balcony or sun deck, spa, finished basement and offer breathtaking views of Lake Geneva on one side and the Swiss Alps on the other. Two of the units even have private swimming pools and 2,000-3,000 square feet of private gardens.

The brief we received from the Yacht Club in Geneva was very straightforward: to illuminate the trophy allowing the fine engraving to be read. The Cup was held in an oblong glass cabinet with a highly reflective bright red metallic background surface; the lighting was quite dull. We replaced the entire lighting system and used 2 full spectrum fiber optic light engines with 20 focusing lenses to provide even lighting across the entire Cup. The result is stunning.

Additionally the owner has a significant art collection and wanted flexibility in the lighting control to allow for many lighting scenes. The Mews library is a show piece of masters’ works and required completely invisible technology so it did not compete with the hand made wood works.

Mews and main house are tied together to allow global control from anywhere in the house.
